The Board of Advanced Studies and Research consists of the Rector, all the Deans, Registrar, and one Professors.

The functions of the Board of Advanced Studies and Research:

1. Advise the Authorities on all matters connected with the promotion of advanced studies and research publication in the University
2. Consider and report to the Authorities in the University of research degrees in the University
3. Propose Regulations regarding the award of research degrees
4. Appoint supervisors for Postgraduate research students and to approve titles and synopses of their thesis/dissertations
5. Recommend panels of names of examiners for evaluation of their other research examinations
6. Perform such other functions as may be prescribed by Statutes
