TUF Organizes Mehfil-e-Mushaira on Azmat-e-Ahl-e-Bait (A.S.)

In a spiritually enriching and literary gathering, the Department of Islamic Studies, The University of Faisalabad (Saleem and Amin Campuses), organized a Mehfil-e-Mushaira titled “Azmat-e-Ahl-e-Bait (A.S.)” on 22 June 2026. The event brought together renowned literary personalities, faculty members, and students to pay tribute to the noble legacy of Ahl-e-Bait (A.S.) through the powerful medium of poetry.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Prof Dr Matloob Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Ms Ayesha Batool served as the Stage Secretary and conducted the event with poise and eloquence. She also presented a moving Manqabat in honor of Ahl-e-Bait (A.S.), setting a reverent tone for the gathering.

The Mehfil-e-Mushaira was presided over by Professor Dr Riaz Majeed, Sadr-e-Mushaira and Head of the Department of Urdu, TUF. A distinguished scholar and literary figure, Dr Riaz Majeed is widely acclaimed for his outstanding contributions to Urdu literature and has received numerous national and international accolades for his literary services.

Prominent poets and poetesses, including Prof Dr Naseem Sahrai, Uzma Naqvi, Dr Tahira Inam, Mrs Safia Hayyat, Mrs Sana Noreen, Professor Tahir Siddiqui, Professor Riaz Ahmad Qadri, Anwar Aneeq, Kausar Ali, Syed Asad Naqvi Bukhari, and Shehzad Baig, presented their poetry and paid heartfelt tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S.) and the revered Ahl-e-Bait (A.S.).

Through their eloquent verses, the poets highlighted the virtues, sacrifices, steadfastness, and exalted status of the Holy Ahl-e-Bait (A.S.), captivating the audience and creating an atmosphere of reflection, devotion, and spiritual inspiration.

The event concluded with a collective Dua and Salam, leaving participants deeply inspired and further enriching The University of Faisalabad’s literary, cultural, and spiritual landscape. The Mehfil reaffirmed the University's commitment to promoting literary expression and preserving the rich spiritual and cultural traditions of the Muslim world.
