Good Health and Well-being
In a meaningful blend of spiritual reflection and scientific insight, the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics conducted an International Webinar on “Spirituality and Nutrition in Ramadan.”
The session emphasized the balance between mindful nutrition and spiritual growth during the holy month, engaging participants through Qur’an recitation, naat, and thought-provoking talks.
Renowned speaker Syed Hanzalah, a student scholar at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, highlighted the spiritual philosophy of fasting and its lessons of patience, gratitude, and self-discipline. Complementing this perspective, Munawar Abbas, Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at APC Microbiome Ireland, University College Cork, shared evidence-based guidance on maintaining gut health, balanced nutrition, and overall well-being during fasting.
The webinar offered practical strategies for healthy fasting while reinforcing the deeper spiritual essence of Ramadan, leaving participants inspired to integrate both knowledge and faith into their daily lives.
