A study tour was arranged for the students of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences to Syeda Khatoon-e-Jannat Trust Hospital and Special Education Center on October 6, 2025. The visit was arranged as part of the students’ clinical exposure program to enhance their understanding of rehabilitation practices for children with special needs. A total of 31 students from the 3rd and 4th semesters of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program participated, under the supervision of Dr Zain Ali; PT, and Dr Aqsa Saman; PT.
Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the staff and administration of the center. The visit began with an orientation session by Dr Tahreem, where she briefed the students about the center’s vision, specialized services, and therapeutic programs required to support the development and well-being of children with disabilities. Dr Haroon, PT (Head of Department), and Dr Tahreem, PT, visited the students during the tour and elaborated on the various therapeutic techniques, equipment, and rehabilitation approaches used at the center, providing valuable guidance and professional insights into their practical applications. During the tour, students observed various rehabilitation and educational activities, interacted with special children, and learned about the multidisciplinary approaches used in therapy, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. The students also discussed behavioral interventions and community-based programs that play a vital role in promoting independence and inclusion.
This study tour supported the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
