The Department of Education organized a seminar titled Key Factors of Success in MS/MPhil/PhD Research, aimed at empowering postgraduate and doctoral students with essential tools and strategies for academic excellence. The seminar, led by Dr Muhammad Obaid Aslam, Head, Department of Education, featured keynote speaker Dr Shafqat Hussain, a renowned expert in research methodologies, and was chaired by Dr Matloob Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
The event focused on critical aspects of research success, including the selection of relevant and original topics, conducting effective literature reviews, mastering time and resource management, building research skills, and maintaining research integrity. Dr Shafqat Hussain emphasized the importance of aligning research topics with academic goals and personal interests, adopting systematic approaches to literature reviews, and leveraging modern tools to manage time and resources efficiently. He also highlighted the significance of ethical practices and transparency in research.
An interactive session followed the keynote address, where participants presented their proposed research topics and received valuable feedback. The seminar provided an engaging platform for collaborative learning and underscored the role of research in societal progress. It also aligned with the university's commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and academic excellence, contributing to Sustainable Development Goals such as SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
