A webinar has been conducted on the topic of “Importance of Power Electronics in Renewable Energy Applications” by Department of Engineering Technology on Wednesday 26 May, 2021. The guest speaker was Dr Sohaib Tahir, Assistant Professor, COMSATS University Islamabad, Sahiwal Campus. He described the benefits and importance of power electronics for the graduates in renewable energy. He further elaborated that learning the power electronics is a great way to optimize the renewable energy systems and to promote green energy across the globe. He shared his experience of implementing power electronics in renewable energy systems, as a member of Power Electronics and Renewable Energy Center (PEREC), Xi’an Jiaotong University, where he has conducted a comprehensive research over the aforementioned topic.
Students face many problems during implementation of power electronics and controlling its parameters specifically in industry. Dr Sohaib Tahir explained the students how to overcome these challenging issues and gain useful experience in the real-world applications. In the end, the Head of the Department of Engineering Technology thanked the honorable guest speaker for his valuable speech on this webinar.
