Hands-on Training Workshop on Molecular Diagnostic Techniques (Days 1 & 2)
The Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology successfully conducted Day 1 of the 3-day Hands-on Training Workshop on Molecular Diagnostic Techniques.
The session focused on practical training in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and Gel Electrophoresis, providing students with valuable laboratory experience and technical skills under the guidance of Dr. Bukhtawer Nasir and Dr. Laraib Shoukat.
The workshop aims to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world laboratory practices, empowering students with industry-relevant scientific expertise.
The Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology continued Day 2 activities of its three-day Hands-on Training Workshop on Molecular Diagnostic Techniques (PCR & Gel Electrophoresis).
The session featured engaging and informative sessions facilitated by distinguished experts, who shared valuable insights into advanced molecular techniques and their applications in modern diagnostics, biotechnology, and scientific research.
Expert Speakers:
• Dr Aftab Ahmad — Associate Professor at the University of Nizwa, Oman, specializing in CRISPR/Cas-based genome editing and plant molecular biology.
• Prof Dr Mubin Ahmad — Expert in molecular virology and viral genome research from the Centre of Agricultural Biochemistry and Biotechnology, University of Agriculture Faisalabad.
• Professor Dr Muhammad Shahid — Internationally recognized Tenured Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, known for his significant contributions to biochemistry and scientific research.
The speakers engaged students, researchers, and faculty members through discussions on recent advancements, emerging trends, and future prospects in the field of molecular biology. The workshop provided participants with valuable exposure to modern diagnostic techniques and contemporary research applications.
The Department successfully concluded the 3-Days Hands-on Training Workshop on Molecular Diagnostic Techniques (PCR + Gel Electrophoresis).
On the final day, hands-on training was conducted by Dr. Laraib, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology, TUF, who guided participants through practical demonstration and key technical aspects of molecular diagnostics.
The workshop provided students and young researchers with valuable exposure to modern laboratory techniques, reinforcing TUF’s commitment to academic excellence and skill-based learning.
