World Glaucoma Week

Glaucoma is the silent killer of sight. It causes irreversible loss of vision. More than 4.5million people are suffering from this globally. World glaucoma week was celebrated by department of Optometry from 7- 9 March 2022 in Health Sciences wing TUF.

Free eye camp was conducted and medications were prescribed to the patients free of cost. More than 300 patients were screened for their visual complaints.

Assistant Professor Dr Mehmood Hussain from Madinah Teaching Hospital visited this camp and also evaluated the models, posters and photographs presented by students in the competitions.

Students participated and were awarded with prizes for getting positions in competitions. Messages on FM Radio were aired and flyers were distributed among people for mass awareness on glaucoma.
