Workshop “Criminal Justice System of Pakistan”

Department of Law, TUF organized a three-day workshop on “Criminal Justice System of Pakistan” at Amin campus on August 9-11, 2023. Law students from TUF as well as across the Faisalabad participated in the workshop.

On day 1, prominent and senior members from District Bar Association Faisalabad graced the occasion with their presence. Guest speakers were Rana Muhammad Anwar Khan, former Director Legal, Anti-Corruption, Justice (R) Farrukh Gulzar, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan, Dr Muhammad Amir Manj, Assistant Professor of Law, GC University Faisalabad and Mr Yasir Nazeer, Assistant District Public Prosecutor Lahore. The guests also witnessed the criminal law exhibition displayed by the students of LLB-II and LLB-V. All the guests were amazed with the creativity of the students of Law Department.

On day 2, Guest speakers were Raja Shahid Zameer, Additional District & Sessions Judge Faisalabad, Mr Naeem Aziz Sindho, SP Special Branch Faisalabad Region. Chief guest Naqeeb-ul-Ashraf, H.E. Shaykh Syed Khalid Abdul Qadir Mansoor Al-Gillani from Baghdad Sharif had enlightened the hearts and minds of the participants with his spiritual discussion about the Criminal Justice System of Islam.

The other chief guest was the honorable Inspector General of Prisons, Punjab, Mian Farooq Nazeer. Mian Muhammad Hanif (SI), honorable Patron in Chief, TUF, Prof (Meritorious) Dr Muhammad Khaleeq Ur Rahman, Rector and Ms Zahida Maqbool, Additional Registrar were also present on the occasion. The guests also visited the Allama Iqbal Moot Court Room, where a MoU was signed between TUF and Prisons Department, Punjab.

On third day of mega event, Prof Dr Shirza Nadeem, Head Department of Forensic Medicine, UMDC, Prof Dr Khurram Sohail Raja, Head of Forensic Medicine Department, AFMC and Syeda Madeeha Masroor, Advocate High Court were guest speakers.

The student’s along with the faculty learnt a lot about Forensic Medicine and Medical Jurisprudence and are now of the view that it is indeed a captivating subject that combines science, medicine, law and offers a unique perspective on the criminal justice system. Mr Sami Ur Rahman, Head of Law Department, TUF thanked all the dignitaries of the three days who spared their precious time for the students of TUF. The workshop was concluded with distribution of mementos to the guest speakers and certificates among all participants.
