Good Health and Well-being
The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences organized a study tour for the students of Doctor of Physical Therapy (10th Semester) to BASES: Behavior and Special Education Services, Peshawar Road, Rawalpindi, on 17 February 2026. The visit aimed to enhance students’ clinical exposure, interdisciplinary learning, and understanding of rehabilitation services in special education settings. The delegation consisted of 27 students from 10th semester DPT.
The study tour was organized to provide students with practical exposure to multidisciplinary rehabilitation services for children with special needs. It aimed to help them understand assessment and intervention strategies used in managing behavioral and developmental disorders, as well as to enhance their knowledge of early intervention programs. The visit also focused on bridging theoretical learning with real-time clinical practice and highlighting the role of physiotherapy in special education and pediatric rehabilitation settings.
Upon arrival, the students and supervisors were warmly welcomed by the Senior Physiotherapist Dr Jawad Khan.

Students were taken on a guided tour of therapy rooms, classrooms, behavioral units, and assessment areas.
Students actively participated by asking questions related to assessment techniques, treatment planning, and outcome measures.
This study tour contributed to the following SDGs: SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities, SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals. The study tour to BASES Institute was highly informative and professionally enriching. It provided 10th semester DPT students with valuable clinical exposure and strengthened their understanding of rehabilitation practices in special education settings.
