TUF Model United Nations 2024: A Three-Day Event Celebrating Diplomacy & Culture by Unleashing the Power of Young Minds

TUFMUN-2024, a three-day event at TUF, brought together students from various institutions to engage in stimulating debates, simulate international diplomacy, and foster cultural exchange. The event provided a platform for participants to discuss global issues, hone their leadership skills, and form connections with peers and professionals alike.

The event gained prestige in the opening ceremony with the presence of distinguished guests from the University Medical and Dental College, including Prof Dr Akram Malik, Principal UMDC.

The first round of Committee Sessions commenced, where participants took on the roles of diplomats, engaging in debates on various global issues, such as climate change, human rights, and international security. A Qawali Night, was also organized as a celebration of Sufi music that provided a soulful atmosphere for the delegates.

Day 2 of TUF MUN saw the continuation of Committee Sessions, with delegates delving deeper into pressing global issues. The debates became increasingly intense as the participants honed their negotiation skills, striving for consensus and crafting resolutions. In the evening, the event turned to entertainment with the much-awaited Musical Night.

On the final day, delegates participated in their last round of Committee Sessions, where they presented their resolutions and engaged in one final round of debates. The final discussions were both intense and collaborative, with participants showcasing their refined diplomatic skills. The closing ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including Mr Kamran Adil, DIG/CPO Faisalabad, as the Chief Guest, Mian Muhammad Haider Amin, Chairman BoG, TUF, and Dr Muhammad Hamza Amin, Vice Chairman BoG, TUF. Mr Haider appreciated the TUF Student societies for conducting these activities and creating opportunities for other institute to gain diverse experience at The University of Faisalabad.

The event featured a thought-provoking panel discussion on the Gaza crisis by three esteemed panelists: Allama Zahid Mehmood Qasmi, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulama Council and Tehreek Khatme Nabuwat, Mahboob Uz Zaman But, Ameer Jamat e Islami Faisalabad, Mr Muhammad Ehthesham, TUF Alumnus and Best Delegate Award Winner of Model United Nations Thailand 2024. The ceremony also included an award distribution, recognizing the achievements of 23 participating institutes across six committees: UNSC, UNHRC, PNA, UNW, ICJ, and UNODC. The Beacon House Girls Campus Canal Faisalabad team took home the award of Best Delegation of TUFMUN'24. The event provided a global awareness in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting quality education (SDG 4), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), and partnerships for the goals (SDG 17).
