TUF Marks the 77th Independence Day with Inspiring Celebrations: A Day of Patriotism and Community Spirit

TUF marked Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day with a dynamic blend of insightful discussions, cultural enrichment, and thrilling sports events through the collaborative efforts of the Center of Collective Activities. In collaboration with Lyallpur Girls Cadet College, a flag hoisting ceremony was organized that was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including Prof Dr Muhammad Akram Malik, Principal UMDC, Prof Dr Tahira Iqbal, Dean Faculty of Medicine & Allied Health Sciences, the Heads of Departments and faculty members from TUF.

Their participation added to the solemnity and significance of the occasion. The ceremony was followed by a recitation of Holy Quran, Naat Rasool Pak (S.A.W), and a National anthem. The highlight of the event was a tribute performance and a compelling tableau. In addition, keeping in view the 'Go Green' plantation drive, TUF Environmental Society took a proactive step towards environmental stewardship by distributing plants to all attendees, encouraging them to contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.

Musical Society presented a stirring documentary, heartfelt tributes, and patriotic songs that captured key moments from Pakistan’s history, showcasing the struggles, sacrifices, and triumphs that shaped the nation. The performances were interspersed with recitations of poetry and prose, adding a cultural and emotional depth to the event.

For an eloquent celebration, TUF Literary, Dramatic, and Cultural Societies came together to present a series of remarkable performances. With the presence of heads of the departments and faculty members, the event truly highlighted the rich culture and heritage of Pakistan, reminding us of the immense significance of our independence.

In the spirit of unity and sportsmanship, Sports Society hosted exhilarating table tennis, handball matches and other sports events, featuring the prowess of international sports figures: Mr Naseer Ahmad, International Handball Coach, Ms Nazish Maqsood, International Handball and Netball Player, Ms Shabana Akhtar, International Hockey Player.

Their presence added a remarkable touch to the festivities, highlighting the importance of sports in fostering discipline and teamwork among TUFIANS.
