TUF Gives a Warm Welcome to Fresh Entrants at Orientation ‘23

To familiarize its fresh entrants with campus life, The University of Faisalabad conducted a series of captivating orientation sessions at Saleem and Amin campuses spanning four days, from October 10-13, 2023. Students from Law, Optometry, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Lab Sciences, Physical Therapy, Dermatology, and Dietetics & Nutrition joined the orientation sessions.

In alignment with the Islamic values of the university, Day I began with a special Milad-E-Mustafa (PBUH), organized to welcome the fresh entrants. Heartening speeches of Additional Registrar Ms Zahida Maqbool, and Rector Prof Dr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman facilitated the new entrants’ transition to university life. Ms Zahida addressed the students, underlining the importance of holistic development: “Your time here is not just to earn a degree; it is about professional growth, self-discovery, and embracing new opportunities." Prof Dr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman’s words reflected the ethos of a brilliant visionary when he spoke, “As Iqbal’s verse goes, 'Lab pe ati hai dua ban kr tamanna meri,' signifying your importance, our mission is to serve humanity as Our Prophet (PBUH) did.”

In the first orientation session, Deputy Registrar Student Affairs Mr Muhammad Zubair, and Coordination officer Ms Hafiza Iqra Nawaz attuned students to chief values of Discipline, Behavior, and Professionalism. HOD Rehabilitation Sciences Dr Shahid Ahmed Heera conducted a session, enlightening students on the subject of Health and Community whereas another session by Mr Sami-ur-Rahman, Head of the Department of Law, provided students with profound insights into the harmonious coexistence of Faith and its role in personal Formation. Throughout the day, various interactive sessions led by field experts created a sense of belonging for new entrants and set the tone for a productive and respectful academic environment.

 

On Day II of Orientation 2023, Mr Sadiq, AGM of Sadaqat Limited, gave us an insightful session on "Career Counseling and Skill Development" where he provided his expertise on shaping successful careers and essential skills. Sharing wisdom on the topic “Empowering Women, Inspiring Change”, Ms Mahnoor Hammed, Area Sales Manager at Nestle Faisalabad, gave an empowering lecture on the strength and potential of women in today's world.

To guide students about the latest technology and learning resources, an intriguing Tech talk session featured prominent speakers including Mr Fayyaz Ahmed Khan, Senior Network Manager; Muhammad Ibrahim, Chief Librarian; and Mr Tahir Ch, Manager IT. A Meet-the-Expert session hosted by Amna Ikhlaq, CEO of WodWes, equipped new entrants with the knowledge and tools required to initiate their freelancing journeys while another by Ms Rameen Anwar, Communication Manager at National Incubation Center gave useful and practical advice on Entrepreneurial Innovations.The day was filled with festivity and excitement as fresher’s also took part in cultural and sports activities managed by Mr Altaf Ahmad, deputy director sports.

 

Day III of Orientation 2023 at The University of Faisalabad began with an insightful "Global Engagement via Academic Pursuit" session by Mr Abdullah Zafar, Manager Development, who shed light on the strategies and opportunities TUF offers for students to pursue their academic and career goals worldwide. To boost students’ leadership skills, Tanvir Mehdi, General Manager at Toyota Lyallpur Motors demonstrated vision, compassion, and persistence as embodying leadership. Newcomers were facilitated with knowledge about various regulations governing the academic system at TUF by Deputy Registrar Academics Ms Rabia Ahmad, whereas a dynamic session hosted by Director HR Happilac Umer Nasir focused on “Skill Enhancement”.

Continuing the series of illuminating sessions, Dr Komal Atta, Director Medical Education, enlightened the students about the processes of “Self-Directed Learning”. To showcase the creative spirit of the university, talented students exhibited their talents in a spectacular skit drama, leaving new entrants in awe.

 

Day IV of Orientation ’23 at The University of Faisalabad featured informative sessions, delivering invaluable insights on distinguished topics. Hosted by Mr Uzair Hayat, Manager of Operations at Inno Knits USA, an Effective Communication session manifested active participation of students. Mr Uzair delineated the significance of communication skills and their potential impact on the academic and professional journeys of the students. Advancing the enlightening sessions, Mr. Muhammad Dayyan, the CEO of D.S.M.E Global Link (Pvt) Ltd, presented a treasure trove of insights on Digital Transformation & Entrepreneurship that held immense value for the students’ academic and professional endeavors.

From engaging activities to informative presentations, this four-day orientation inspired and empowered the students as they embarked on their academic journey. It was a memorable event emphasizing growth, community service, and personal development.
