TUF Environmental Society Collaborates with JICA for Educational Visit to Faisalabad Water Treatment Plant

TUF Environmental Society extends heartfelt thanks to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for arranging an insightful visit to the Water Treatment Plant in Faisalabad. Part of JICA’s “Capacity Development Project for Water Supply,” the visit offered students practical exposure to advanced water purification technologies, connecting academic knowledge with real-world environmental solutions.

Dr Shaista Shafiq, Head, Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology, Advisor to the Environmental Society, expressed gratitude to the JICA team, Japanese and Pakistani engineers, and the Department of Irrigation, Government of Pakistan, for their warm welcome and knowledge-sharing. This initiative supports SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), reflecting TUF’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and experiential learning.
