The Art of Research in Linguistics

Research is formalized curiosity and to quench this curiosity of students of BS English, a seminar on The Art of Research in Linguistics was organized by the Department of English Language and Literature. The keynote speaker, Dr. Muhammad Asim Mehmood, Dean of Arts and Social Sciences Faculty GCUF, enlightened the students regarding research trends in Linguistics and encouraged them to partake in research in the fields of English Language and Literature.

The guest speaker also shed light on how language and literature are intertwined. He argued that to understand Literature one must have a sound knowledge of Linguistics. The students were invigorated by the session. The session clarified their concepts and motivated them to start their research projects right away. In the realm of language study, research serves as the cornerstone for uncovering the intricate nuances and underlying structures that govern human communication. Today, we delve into the multifaceted world of linguistic research, exploring its methodologies, challenges, and the creative processes that drive breakthroughs in this field.

The event aimed of making the students able to acknowledge the landscape of research diversity, crafting the research questions, methodological considerations, navigating challenges, and embracing creativity. It aimed of approaching to a broader academic community, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and understanding in the field.
