The Department of Dental Sciences organized an insightful seminar titled “Tooth Decay: How to Reverse It and Avoid Cavities”, aimed at raising awareness about oral health, identifying early signs of tooth decay, and sharing effective strategies to reverse enamel damage and prevent cavities. The guest speaker, Dr Ateeq ur Rehman, a renowned Consultant Endodontist from PMC Dental Institute, delivered a highly engaging lecture. Drawing from his clinical expertise, Dr Ateeq explained the biological processes of demineralization and remineralization of teeth and highlighted the importance of fluoride, xylitol, and calcium phosphate in enamel repair. He also emphasized the role of a balanced diet, proper oral hygiene practices, and timely dental interventions in cavity prevention.
This initiative aligns with SDGs, Good Health and Well-being, by promoting awareness of oral health as a crucial component of overall health and disease prevention. It also supports Quality Education by delivering expert-level knowledge in an academic setting, enriching the learning experience of future dental professionals.
