Seminar on “Role of Nanotechnology in Enhancing therapeutic potential of flavonoids

Seminar “Role of nanotechnology in enhancing therapeutic potential of flavonoids” Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences organized a seminar on “Role of nanotechnology in enhancing therapeutic potential of flavonoids” in Health Sciences wing on April 1, 2022. Dr Ayesha Ihsan, Principal Scientist, Associate Professor at Nanobiotech NIBGE Campus, PIEAS University, Islamabad was keynote speaker. In her lecture,

Dr Ayesha shared her expertise and experience in Nanomaterials and Biology. Dr Ayesha discussed about different methods of synthesis of nano materials and their types for medicines. She also enlightened the role of solid lipid nanoparticles for drug delivery. Flavonoids and anti inflammatory and antioxidant role of flavonoids was also discussed in detail. She admired The University of Faisalabad for providing its students research facilities. She was also thankful for the management of TUF for providing platform to share her research experience. We look forward for future collaborations, She added. Seminar was concluded with the thanking note by Dr Asra Iftikhar, Head Department of Pharmacy. Faculty members and large number of students from Department of Pharmacy attended this useful session.

Ms Vladimira and Mr Nadeem Shaikh visited various departments of the University and Madinah Teaching Hospital (MTH). They appreciated the state of the art infrastructure of the University and philanthropic activities of Madinah Foundation for providing free health care facilities at MTH. Later, in Ali Auditorium, a panel discussion on “Entrepreneurship as a Force of Change" was also conducted participated by Ms Vladimira, Mr Nadeem Shaikh, Ms Zahida Maqbool, Dr Amna Javed, Dr Arshia Hashmi, Prof Dr Sundus Tariq, Prof Dr Saba Tariq and Dr Komal Atta.

Large number of faculty members and students were present to listen the valuable discussion. Ms Vladimira and Mr Nadeem Shaikh lauded the efforts of Ms Zahida Maqbool and her team for women empowerment.
