Qirat and Naat Competition 2025: A Soul-Stirring Celebration of Faith and Devotion

The Department of Computer Sciences, in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Studies, hosted a spiritually uplifting Qiraat and Naat Competition. This remarkable event provided students with an opportunity to showcase their devotion through the recitation of the Holy Qur’an and heartfelt Naats, fostering an atmosphere of reverence and unity. The event commenced with inspiring addresses by Prof Dr Majid Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Information Technology and Prof Dr Matloob Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, who emphasized the significance of Qur’anic teachings and the love for Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) in our lives.

The competition featured a mesmerizing Qiraat session, where participants recited the Holy Qur’an with deep spiritual passion. The audience was captivated by the soul-stirring voices, reflecting a profound connection with the divine verses. Following this, the Naat Competition began, where students expressed their love and admiration for the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) through melodious recitations.

A distinguished panel of judges was invited to assess the participants, including: Mufti Muhammad Luqman (92 News) – announced the results for the Qirat Competition, Dr Riaz Majeed (Head of Urdu Department, TUF) – announced the results for the Naat Competition, Allama Qari Muhammad Ahmad, Dr Hifsa Munawar (Assistant Professor, Islamic Studies), Madam Ayesha Batool (Examination Officer), and Sajid Ali Sajid (92 News) – contributed their expertise as jury members. The winners were awarded certificates and accolades in recognition of their outstanding performances. The event concluded with a heartfelt message of gratitude to all participants, guests, and organizers, reinforcing the university’s commitment to nurturing spiritual values alongside academic excellence.
