In a remarkable display of sportsmanship and talent, TUF welcomed 20 universities to its campus for the 26th HEC Men’s Boxing Championship 2025, setting the stage for intense competition and thrilling performances. The event commenced with a grand opening ceremony, where Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, TUF graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The presence of Mr Irfan Khan Niazi, Player, Pakistan National Cricket Team, and Mr Shoukat Chatta, Former National Boxer Player and 9-time Asian Gold Medalist, as Guests of Honor added to the excitement of the event. Mr Asif, Assistant Director of Sports, HEC Pakistan, also appreciated the meticulous arrangements made by TUF for this mega sporting event.
During his address, Prof Aman Ullah Malik welcomed all Directors, Managers, and Coaches to TUF and highlighted the university's commitment to nurturing sports talent. He proudly shared that 85 students have been enrolled at TUF on a Sports-Based Admission this year, demonstrating the university’s dedication to facilitating and empowering athletes to represent Pakistan on international platforms. The championship concluded with an exhilarating Closing Ceremony, organized by the TUF Sports Society. Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, TUF, once again graced the event with his presence, while Prof Dr Muhammad Ashfaq, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, and Dr Muhammad Arshad Shahad Hassan, Convener, TUF Sports Committee, attended as Guests of Honor.
The event was further honored by the presence of Mian Ghafran Ali, International Taekwondo Player, 5-time Asian Gold Medalist, Mr Yousaf Pathan, Secretary, Pakistan Boxing Federation, and Dr Amjad Raheem, MS Pakistan Olympic Association. They awarded medals and cash prizes to the winners, recognizing their outstanding performances. Among the 20 competing universities, The University of Lahore secured 3rd place, while Superior University claimed 2nd position. The championship title was shared by The University of the Punjab and UMT Lahore, as both teams secured equal points. The University of Faisalabad also performed exceptionally well, winning 4 Bronze Medals and securing 4th position.
To conclude the championship, the Chief Guest presented souvenirs to referees and sports directors/managers as a token of appreciation for their valuable contributions. The successful execution of this grand event reaffirmed The University of Faisalabad’s dedication to promoting sports and empowering young athletes across Pakistan.
