Good Health and Well-being
In observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, The University of Faisalabad, participated in the Annual Event organized by the Department of Special Education, University of Education, on 10 December 2025, held at the University of Education. The event was organized under the supervision of Dr Hina Hidayat Ali, Assistant Professor, Department of Special Education and served as an important platform to promote disability awareness, inclusion, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The event was honored by the presence of Dr Marium Zafar, Head of the Department, TUF as Chief Guests, Dr Anbreena Rasool, Assistant Professor, TUF and Dr Muneeb Jafar, Lecturer, TUF as Guests of Honor, whose participation added academic and professional value to the program. Representing the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, TUF actively contributed through a professional presentation highlighting its ongoing efforts for the welfare of persons with disabilities, with particular emphasis on community-based services to ensure accessible and inclusive healthcare.
During the event, the department provided free physiotherapy consultations, comprehensive clinical assessments, and free Bone Mineral Density (BMD) testing for all participants. A BMD screening camp, arranged in collaboration with GSK, successfully screened more than 70 students, supporting early detection, health awareness, and preventive care. Faculty members engaged with students and attendees through interactive discussions and awareness activities, emphasizing the importance of early intervention, rehabilitation, and inclusive practices.
The participation of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, TUF, reflected a strong commitment to professional excellence, teamwork, and community engagement. The event proved to be a valuable opportunity for knowledge sharing, professional networking, and strengthening inter-institutional collaboration, while reinforcing the department’s mission to empower individuals with disabilities and enhance accessibility within the community. This event supported SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-Being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive healthcare, disability awareness, and early intervention services.
