Healing through Art Workshop: A Creative Journey to Reduce Stress and Anxiety

On the 16th of November 2022, the Department of Design and Interiors, in a collaborative effort with the Department of Dermal Technology, orchestrated a transformative workshop titled "Healing through Art." This innovative event aimed to unlock the therapeutic potential of art, stimulating participants' creativity while alleviating stress and anxiety through the power of artistic expression.

In a world where the demands of modern life can often take a toll on one's mental well-being, "Healing through Art" emerged as a beacon of hope, offering attendees a unique opportunity to explore the healing capabilities of artistic creation.

Participants in this workshop were invited to embark on a creative journey, delving deep into various art techniques designed to stimulate their creative minds. The workshop's primary objective was to provide a platform for individuals to channel their inner thoughts and emotions, promoting inner peace and tranquility.

One such captivating technique that captured participants' attention was the art of pouring acrylic mediums onto canvas. This enchanting process allowed each individual to craft their abstract artistic expressions. This method allowed attendees to translate their emotions into mesmerizing visual compositions, fostering a profound connection between their inner world and the canvas.

The "Healing through Art" workshop was skillfully facilitated by two remarkable artists, Afsheen Javaid and Rumaisa Khaleel. Their guidance and expertise created an environment where participants felt free to explore, experiment, and express themselves through the transformative medium of art.

As participants immersed themselves in the world of colors, textures, and shapes, they discovered that art can heal and rejuvenate the soul. The creative process became a cathartic outlet, enabling them to release pent-up emotions and find solace in the act of creation.

This collaboration between the Department of Design and Interiors and the Department of Dermal Technology exemplifies the university's commitment to holistic well-being and the fusion of diverse disciplines to create a better world.
