Havva 2025 | Her Story, Her Glory

TUF officially launched HAVVA 2025, a grand cultural and intellectual event, with an inspiring vision to empower women and celebrate their pivotal role in shaping society. Dr Zahida Maqbool, Registrar, TUF, presided over the official launch of the HAVVA event for the inauguration ceremony. Held under the powerful theme “Her Story, Her Glory”, the two-day event blended art, intellect, culture, and wellness into a dynamic platform for the female students of TUF to express their talents and perspectives. From competitive arenas to cultural showcases, HAVVA 2025 offered something for every expression of creativity, heritage, and social awareness.

HAVVA 2025 kicked off in full spirit from soulful Qiraat & Naat competition to art & calligraphy competitions with the unstoppable energy of female students.

As part of the enriching lineup of HAVVA 2025, a special Gourmet Plating Technique Workshop was conducted by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Mr Izhar Ali, Executive Master Chef at Serena HoteL, as the chief guest provided students with professional insights into the art of food presentation, emphasizing the importance of visual appeal in culinary experiences. Led by Dr Sadia Hassan, Head Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, and her team, the culinary showcase promoted healthy eating and wellness. Students participated in the Mystery Basket Challenge and demonstrated gourmet plating techniques, while the Nutrition & Dietetics Department offered live stalls and personalized consultations.

Food brought cultures together in this exhibition of global tastes. Students presented nutritious, diverse dishes reflecting both innovation and tradition.

Students transformed TUF’s corridors into vibrant visual narratives of “Heritage Exploration”, combining traditional truck art with personal doodle interpretations. Dr Zahida Maqbool and esteemed faculty members admired the artwork that reflected national motifs and symbolic designs, celebrating Pakistani cultural identity.

This segment showcased emotional storytelling through art, with guidance from Ms Kiran Khalid, Lecturer, Department of Art and Design, UAF, who conducted a training session that helped students refine their techniques and visual voice.

The Clay Pottery Painting segment brought campus corridors to life with color and texture. Each pot became a canvas, blending bold strokes and delicate floral patterns in a tribute to creativity and feminine grace.

Participants creatively used digital media to highlight women's empowerment, mental health, and social issues, effectively blending entertainment with advocacy in formats popular among youth.

Theatrical performances and storytelling showcased themes of motherhood, sacrifice, and resilience, engaging audiences with emotional depth and cultural relevance.

The Debates segment added an intellectual dimension to HAVVA 2025, featuring passionate orators in both Urdu and English. The Urdu debate topic, “چلتی پھرتی آنکھوں سے اذان دیکھی ہے، میں نے جنت تو نہیں دیکھی مگر ماں دیکھی ہے,” and the English theme, “Mother: A Symbol of Blessing,” both stirred deep emotions and philosophical reflection on the vital role of mothers.

In a dazzling display, students walked the ramp in ensembles inspired by traditional and contemporary aesthetics. This event celebrated identity, empowerment, and diversity in women’s fashion across generations. The cultural showcase included a vibrant Fashion Show that revisited the decades from the 1960s to the 1990s.

A powerful panel featured successful women from diverse professions, including law enforcement, healthcare, education, and creative industries, such as: Komal Khan (CTD Officer) Sanah Mubarak (Dietician, Progreen) Sadaf Mustafa (CEO, Glam by Sadaf) Areeba Bint e Asif (Designer, Spark Gaming Studio) Mawra Kazmi (Interior Designer) Mariam Zahid (Educationist, Beaconhouse) They shared their journeys, breaking stereotypes and inspiring young women to lead with confidence and purpose.

The Oath-Taking Ceremony for newly elected society presidents and general secretaries further instilled a sense of leadership and responsibility in students. Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, TUF, took the oath from the newly elected presidents of the societies. The event concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony recognizing the outstanding achievements of students in various competitions. Prizes were awarded by Dr Zahida Maqbool, Registrar, TUF, to all winning students as a token of appreciation for their creativity, skill, and excellence.

Position holders included Saman (DPT) in Naat, Laiba Mehmood (BSIS) in Qirat Ghulam Fatima (DPH) in Click & Clip, Malika-e-Noor Usman (DPT) in the Mystery Basket Challenge, Musafira Ubaid (DPH) in the English Debate, Ali Zahra (DPT) in the Urdu Debate, Araikay Afridi (BSDS) in the Fashion Show, and Amina (DPH) in Clay Pottery Painting. The Skit segment was won by the Department of Pharmacy, and the Best Society of the Year award was given to the Religious Society from BSIS.

As the sun set on the final day of HAVVA 2025, the campus atmosphere was transformed into one of soulful reflection and cultural reverence during the much-anticipated Qawwali Night. Held under the open sky, the event brought together students, faculty, and guests for an evening filled with spiritual melodies and poetic expressions. The renowned qawwal Faryad Ali Khan and his band captivated the audience with their powerful vocals and traditional rhythms, delivering timeless verses.

HAVVA 2025 proved to be a magnificent tribute to womanhood, offering students a transformative platform to express themselves, challenge norms, and celebrate their stories. It reaffirmed The University of Faisalabad’s commitment to nurturing empowered, talented, and visionary women who are ready to make a lasting impact on society.
