The University of Faisalabad organized a comprehensive Orientation week for Fresh Faculty Induction aimed at equipping newly inducted faculty members with essential knowledge, skills, and institutional insights.
Day 1 featured onboarding and compliance processes, an engaging session on “Effective Communication” by Prof Dr Katsiaryna Hurbik from the Department of English, a briefing on HR Policies by Ms Nazish Sehar, Deputy Registrar, HR, and a session on “Professional & Ethical Standards” by Mr Sharjeel Yousaf, Lecturer, NBS.
Day 2 included sessions on Quality Assurance & Accreditation by Prof Dr Zahir Ahmad Zahir, Director ORIC, Examination Regulations by Mr Muhammad Zubair, Controller of Examinations, and Technology in Teaching by Dr Shakila Abbas, highlighting the effective use of LMS and e-learning tools.
Day 3 focused on enhancing pedagogical skills, institutional understanding, and professional development. Dr Komal Atta, Director Medical Education, discussed Teaching Methodologies, Dr Zahida Maqbool, Registrar, TUF, shared an Overview of University Structure, Prof Dr Abdul Wahid, Director Academics, explained Academic Policies, and Prof Dr Sami ur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Law, addressed Gender Norms & Policy Against Sexual Harassment.
Day 4 featured a series of insightful sessions designed to enhance faculty competence and engagement. Prof Dr Tanzeela Khalid, Dean Clinical Training, conducted a session on “Work-Life Balance & Stress Management”, followed by Prof Dr Zahir Ahmad Zahir, Director ORIC, who delivered an informative session on “Research Ethics and Integrity”. Ms Tashfeen, Librarian, guided faculty on the “Effective Use of Online Resources and Digital Library”, while Mr Omer Farooq Qureshi, Manager Placement, concluded the day with a session on “Community Engagement”.
Day 5, and the last day of the orientation began with the session on “Effective Student Engagement Techniques”, led by Muhammad Hanan Iftekhar, Head of TUF International Programs, enhancing faculty’s student-centered teaching approach. Maj (Rtd) Abid Hussain Shah, Chief Security Officer, delivered an orientation on the Security Contingency Plan. The program concluded with an address by Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, TUF, and the distribution of certificates.
