EYE CARE FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE!

Department of Optometry students (Semester 3rd & 9th) under the guidance of Dr. Ammara Affi & Dr. Maryam Jabbar conducted a comprehensive eye screening camp at Government Elementary School (67JB), Sadhar ,Faisalabad , benefiting around 300 students. By conducting this camp, we aimed to:

  • Improve eye health awareness
  • Enhance community engagement
  • Foster collaborative learning 

Mission: Detect uncorrected refractive errors, particularly myopia, in this vulnerable age group.

Why: Digitalization era increases risk, and public sector schools often have undiagnosed cases.

This screening camp was aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically

  • SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing- Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being
  • SDG 4: Quality Education - Providing inclusive and equitable education
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals - Fostering collaboration and community engagement
