Empowering Allied Health Sciences Professionals: Pathways in Public Health.

The University of Faisalabad formally announced the launch of its Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH) program during a seminar titled "Empowering Allied Health Sciences Professionals: Pathways in Public Health." The primary objective of the event was to raise awareness among students of allied health sciences regarding potential career opportunities in the field of public health.

Prof Dr Sajid Hameed, Head, Department of Public Health at Green International University, Lahore, delivered an insightful address highlighting the expansive scope and global relevance of public health as a discipline. He emphasized its pivotal role in addressing health challenges at both national and international levels.

Prof Dr Sumera Riaz, Head, Department of Community Medicine, UMDC elaborated on academic career pathways within public health. She informed attendees that graduates holding a Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Sciences are eligible to pursue the MSPH program, thereby opening doors to diverse professional opportunities. These include roles in academic institutions, international organizations such as UNICEF, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the World Health Organization, particularly in consultancy and research positions within the field of public health.

The seminar also featured the presence of distinguished guests including Dr Bilal Ahmad, former CEO Health, Faisalabad, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Shad, Medical Superintendent, Madinah Teaching Hospital, Dr Mushtaq Bashir, former MS, Dr Faisal Maqsood Teaching Hospital, Sargodha, Dr Muhammad Tahir, Associate Professor, Department of Bioinformatics, GC University, Faisalabad, who engaged with students and responded to their queries related to admission criteria and career prospects in public health. Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector and Dr Zahida Maqbool, Registrar, TUF also shared their views. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, particularly from students of the 7th and 8th semesters of The University of Faisalabad’s Allied Health Sciences programs.
