Civic Engagement during Myopia Awareness Week 2024

In line with Myopia Awareness Week 2024, Dr Maryam Jabbar, from the Optometry Department, initiated a project for our 8th-semester students. They crafted captivating flyers and facilitate focus group discussions based on the World Council of Optometry's (WCO) Myopia Management Standard of Care Resolution. Introduced in April 2021, this resolution centers on three key pillars:

1. Mitigation
2. Measurement
3. Management

Optometry students enthusiastically produced visually striking flyers to advocate myopia awareness and education. This project seamlessly aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals specifically:

• Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
• Goal 4: Quality Education

We commend our students for their dedication to this significant endeavor, as they actively promote eye health and education within our community!
