TUF Rehabilitation Society under the umbrella of Department of Rehabilitation Sciences arranged an event to celebrate “International Day of Persons with Disabilities” on 29th November 2022. The day is about promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities at every level of society and development, and to raise awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of political, social, economic, and cultural life. The event also aimed to Reduce Inequalities to build a more sustainable future for all by following UNSDGs 10 of 17.
Ms Ayesha khan was born with disability. She is a creative artist, writer, poetess, and motivational speaker. Despite being disabled she managed to win a talent show, made several paintings and also wrote a poetry which will be published soon. Her disability didn’t refrain her from participating in life events.
In order to celebrate the International Day of Persons with disabilities we arranged an Inter-Departmental Skit Competition at The University of Faisalabad. Our motive was to raise awareness about the disability, that not every disability uses wheelchair and that people with disabilities should not be fixed instead they should be accepted for who they are because they are not disable, they are able in many other ways.
To promote the theme of this year’s International Day of Persons with disabilities in society, TUF Rehabilitation Society organized an Inter-Departmental Skit Competition. Five Teams exhibited their talent, skills and knowledge to portray the theme “Not all disabilities are visible” and were judged accordingly. Winners were awarded with certificates.
