Quality Education
The Department of Dental Sciences, The University of Faisalabad, organized an educational tour to 3D Dental Lab, Islamabad, on October 16, 2025, for final-year BS Dental Technology students. The visit aimed to strengthen students' understanding of modern digital technologies in dental prosthesis fabrication while supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
The primary objective of the educational visit was to provide students with practical exposure to international-standard dental laboratory operations and advanced digital prosthodontic technologies. Through this initiative, students bridged the gap between classroom learning and clinical practice by exploring state-of-the-art CAD/CAM systems, digital workflows, and 3D printing technologies that are transforming modern dental technology.
During the visit, students observed the fabrication of zirconia and lithium disilicate crowns, along with the digital designing of full and partial dentures. The laboratory experts demonstrated modern techniques and emphasized the importance of precision, aesthetics, functionality, and patient comfort throughout the prosthesis development process. The educational tour provided valuable industry exposure and reinforced TUF's commitment to delivering quality, practice-oriented education that prepares students for advancements in digital dentistry.
