BASR Meeting - Curriculum & Research Progress

A meeting of the Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR) held at Saleem Campus, presided over by Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, TUF.

In line with its mission to steer the University’s advanced studies, research, and postgraduate supervision, the Board reviewed significant academic developments. Dr Zahida Maqbool, Registrar, presented progress updates and highlighted improvements since the last meeting. Discussions centered on curriculum revisions, supervisory appointments, and academic policy enhancements in compliance with HEC standards. A major focus was the revision of Schemes of Studies for multiple degree programs, set to take effect from Fall 2026.

Key decisions included:

  • Approval of TUF’s Commercialization & Consultancy Policy
  • Approval of revised Schemes of Studies for postgraduate programs
  • Appointment of local and foreign examiners for thesis evaluation
  • Introduction of a new online PhD thesis evaluation proforma
  • Comprehensive review of faculty activities via the ERP system
  • Standardization of formats for thesis writing and submission

The meeting concluded with appreciation for the faculty’s collective efforts in strengthening academic quality and aligning programs with the University’s vision and HEC requirements.
