The Art Fiesta’24 celebrations at The University of Faisalabad, Saleem Campus, have highlighted the city's rich cultural heritage and vibrant artistic community. It has grown into a 3-day festival on 13th to 15th May, featuring multitude of cultural events and a variety of festivities, including parades, declamation, poetry, singing, stand-up comedy, drama competitions, cultural performances, and art exhibitions.
The festival attracted students, faculty, and art enthusiasts, fostering an environment of artistic expression and appreciation. This Fiesta showcased festivities ranging from historic to contemporary art, that provided unique experiences and fostered community engagement through celebrations. Art Fiesta reached the Final Stage on its third day and the Oath Taking Ceremony for the newly elected presidents and general secretaries of TUF societies. Ms Zahida Maqbool led the ceremony, and all the new leaders pledged to serve with integrity, respect, and dedication to TUF's legacy and success.
The eagerly anticipating moment was the announcement of the winners on the 3rd day of the Art Fiesta. These students were awarded for best drama, singer, comedian, and artist, with each winner receiving Rs.10,000 cash prize:
Photography Society was selected as Best Society of the year, and awarded with Cash Prize of Rs.25,000. Ms Nimra Gull, Lecturer, Department of Optometry was elected as Best Society Advisor of the year and awarded with souvenir. The evening culminated with Qawwali Night, as students basked in the mesmerizing rhythms of soulful Sufi music.
The event was well-received, highlighting the university's commitment to promoting cultural and artistic endeavors. It also provided a platform for students to exhibit their talents and gain inspiration for their future artistic pursuits. These celebrations not only highlighted the universities' contributions to the arts and community but also underscored the significance of Fiesta as a cornerstone of our cultural identity.
