Ambassador of Iraq visited TUF to pave the way for academic collaboration

H.E Mr Hamid Abbas Lafta, the Ambassador of Iraq to Pakistan, visited The University of Faisalabad and praised the institution’s remarkable contributions to education and healthcare at both national and international levels on January 9 , 2025. During his visit, Ambassador Hamid Abbas Lafta met with Mr Muhammad Haider Amin, Chairman, BOG, TUF, Dr Muhammad Hamza Amin, Vice Chairman BOG, Prof Dr Amanullah Malik, Rector, TUF, Dr Zahida Maqbool, Registrar, TUF, and faculty members. Mr Haider Amin gave a detailed presentation to the Iraqi delegation about the Madinah Foundation’s initiatives, including The University of Faisalabad, University Medical and Dental College, Madinah Teaching Hospital, and other welfare projects.

H.E Mr Hamid Abbas Lafta commented “The services of Madinah Foundation in the fields of education and healthcare at both national and international levels are commendable. The University of Faisalabad deserves accolades for its outstanding global university rankings. The Embassy of Iraq in Pakistan is keen to develop mutual academic collaborations between TUF and leading universities in Iraq”.

Mr Haider Amin extended his gratitude to the delegation for their visit and shared plans to establish a state-of-the-art dialysis center in Baghdad, modeled on the Madinah Teaching Hospital’s facilities, to provide advanced medical services. He noted that the project awaits approval from the Iraqi government. Ambassador of Iraq appreciated this initiative and assured full support for its realization.

The Iraqi delegation toured various departments, laboratories, and the library at TUF, praising the university's infrastructure as superior to even global standards. They also visited Madinah Teaching Hospital, where they interacted with patients and presented them with flowers, appreciating the hospital's commitment to quality care.

As part of TUF's "Go Green" initiative, H.E. Mr Hamid planted a sapling in the university's lawn, symbolizing the commitment to environmental sustainability and the growing bond between Pakistan and Iraq.
