5-Day Community Disaster Response Workshop Held by Rehabilitation Society

The Rehabilitation Society, in collaboration with the Punjab Emergency Service Department (Rescue 1122) Faisalabad, organized a comprehensive 5-day workshop on Community Action for Disaster Response (CADRE) at the Government Staff Training College. The training session was led by Mr Adnan, a Community Instructor from Rescue 1122 Faisalabad. This impactful initiative aimed to enhance local community preparedness and resilience against both natural and man-made disasters.

Throughout the five-day training, participants engaged in interactive, hands-on sessions focusing on:

  • Disaster risk reduction and management strategies
  • Community-led disaster preparedness and response
  • Effective emergency communication and coordination
  • Practical training in search, rescue, and first aid
  • Life-saving CPR techniques for emergency situations

The workshop empowered community members with vital knowledge and lifesaving skills, encouraging proactive roles in disaster risk management. This initiative directly supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 13 – Climate Action, and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
