OBJECTIVES

The program is developed to achieve the following objectives:

• To inculcate study of contemporary and traditional art practices through imploring variety of mediums motivated towards both skill building and the development of critical and analytical skills.

• To develop a range of interdisciplinary fields through major studios and elective courses, to broaden the scope of students addressing knowledge of painting, photography, sculpture, artistic craft-based media, ceramics and metal as well digital technology such as three-dimensional modelling and printing, to develop expressive styles.

• To nurture students as artists, creative professionals, art historians, critics and researchers who can identify, formulate, research and analyze traditional & contemporary art perspectives celebrated across the world and apply inventive research techniques and resources to discover contemporary solutions to the artistic problems.

• To address market employability with our graduates in the field of visual arts, sculpture, printing, photography with students having ability of informed reasoning, contextual knowledge socio--cultural & political assessment and the consequent ethical responsibilities towards the society.

ROLE AND SCOPE

The University of Faisalabad offers a 4 year Bachelor degree in Fine Arts, a defining program imploring creative outputs of students and empowering them to generate new concepts and analytical frameworks towards visual art practices. The degree offers an array of tools, strategies and design thinking methodologies over the period of 8 semesters that enable students to become adaptive, multidisciplinary artists majoring in Painting, Sculpture, Visual Arts & Design. Students graduating in BFA will be equipped with thorough historical and cultural background in the fine arts and hands-on learning experience from wide array of tools prevalent in contemporary arts with an increasingly critical and analytical level developed in their education. After the completion of the bachelor programs students will be equipped to practice as painters, artists, sculptors, art educators, museum curators, art coordinators, and marketing managers etc.
