Prof Dr Tahira Iqbal currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Professor of Biochemistry at The University of Faisalabad. With an illustrious career spanning over 37 years in higher education and scientific research, she has made substantial contributions to the disciplines of biochemistry, pharmacogenetics, and medicinal chemistry. Dr. Iqbal obtained her MSc, MPhil and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, and subsequently completed a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Maryland, USA. Her scholarly output includes the supervision of more than 200 postgraduate research theses and the publication of over 100 peer-reviewed articles in nationally and internationally recognized scientific journals. Additionally, she has contributed a book chapter to an internationally acclaimed academic publisher. Her academic excellence and research productivity have been recognized through numerous accolades, including the Silver Medal for her MPhil degree awarded by the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad; the Research Productivity Award conferred by the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology; and the “Star Woman Award for Education,” acknowledging her leadership and impact in the academic domain.
