TUF Law & Mooting Society Hosted Seminar on Anti-Narcotics Efforts

A seminar was organized by TUF Law and Mooting Society which aimed at providing students with a comprehensive understanding of anti-narcotics investigations, legal procedures, and the crucial role of ANF prosecutors, in Amin campus on 28th February. Respected professionals from the legal and healthcare fields attended the event, acknowledging TUF's steadfast commitment to addressing drug abuse and promoting the welfare of Pakistan.

 

Mian Anwar ul Haq, President of the District Bar Association, commended the seminar's focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, noting, "The involvement of legal, clinical, and law enforcement entities underscores the multifaceted approach needed to effectively tackle the drug menace."

District and Sessions Judge Mr Javed ul Hassan Chishti highlighted in his address the necessity to eradicate crimes without excluding criminals. Mr Salman Hundal, Assistant Director of the Anti-Narcotics Force, emphasized the importance of proactive measures, stating, "Events like these are essential in empowering our youth to become proactive agents in the fight against drug abuse."

 

Additionally, Mr Qaiser Nazir Sahi, Advocate High Court, Ms Saba Nazir, Sub-Inspector, and Rana Murtaza Hakeem, Secretary of the District Bar Association, provided insights on the legal implications of anti-narcotics investigations.

Clinical Psychologist Mr Ghulam Mustafa shed light on the psychological aspects of drug abuse, crucial for designing effective intervention strategies. Moreover, Dr Shahid Ahmad Heera, Head, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and Dr Aman Ullah, Director ORIC, expressed gratitude to the distinguished guests by presenting them with souvenirs as tokens of appreciation, symbolizing TUF's recognition of their valuable contributions.

 

The seminar served as an informative platform, reinforcing the collective commitment to combat drug abuse and uphold the rule of law for a healthier society. TUF is committed not only to raising awareness about drug abuse but also to clarifying the legal consequences and promoting collaborative efforts among various departments in combating this societal issue.
