Survey Camp 2025 by Final Year Students of Civil Engineering

To strengthen the bridge between theoretical learning and real-world application, the Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Faisalabad successfully organized Survey Camp 2025 for its 8th-semester students. This immersive field activity was designed to provide practical experience in surveying, a core discipline of civil engineering that plays a vital role in infrastructure development.

Throughout the camp, students engaged in a range of hands-on exercises, gaining expertise in the use of traditional and modern surveying instruments. Activities included levelling, plane tabling, contouring, triangulation, trilateration and pacing, compass traversing, and total station operations. Under the guidance of faculty members, students applied these techniques to simulate real-site conditions, enhancing their problem-solving, teamwork, and data handling skills.

Each day began with a focused briefing session outlining the day’s objectives, safety measures, and technical procedures. Students were grouped and assigned specific tasks, allowing them to rotate through different survey methods and instruments while documenting and analyzing their findings.
