Department of Islamic Studies in collaboration with Islamic Philosophic Society organized a thought-provoking seminar on "Teachings of Hazrat Umar Farooq (R.A); Provide the Foundations for Character Building of Students “on 27th June 2025. Prof Dr Matloob Ahmad, Dean Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences delivered an enlightening address highlighting key aspects of life of Hazrat Umar (R.A), his title "Al-Farooq" and his close family ties with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW). Dr Sharjeel, Lecture National Business School in his keynote address delivered a comprehensive talk on exemplary governance of Hazrat Umar (R.A). The Chief Guest Prof Dr Muhammad Ashfaq , Dean Faculty of Management Studies emphasized Hazrat Umar’s governance and his unmatched contributions to the Islamic world.
The seminar served as a spiritual and intellectual tribute to the life, leadership, and martyrdom of Hazrat Umar (R.A), highlighting his justice, discipline, and exemplary character. During the session, a special discussion was held addressing the current moral and behavioral challenges faced by students. Faculty and guests emphasized the need for character building rooted in the teachings of Islam, drawing inspiration from the life of Hazrat Umar (R.A). Practical suggestions were shared to help students improve discipline, respect, and moral values. The seminar concluded with a collective commitment to nurturing ethical and responsible individuals through education based on Islamic principles.
