International Symposium on AMBLYOPIA | Innovation in Amblyopia Care

The Department of Optometry,TUF proudly hosted the prestigious International Symposium 2025 on the theme “Innovations in Amblyopia Care: Bridging Evidence & Access for Pediatric Vision.” This high-impact academic event brought together globally recognized experts, clinicians, and researchers to spotlight cutting-edge approaches in the diagnosis and management of amblyopia, including Dr Sameera Irfan, Pediatric Ophthalmologist, Oculoplastic & Neuro-Ophthalmologist, Pakistan, Dr Mei Ying Boon, Associate Professor and Program Leader, University of Canberra, Australia, Dr Yap Tiong Peng, FAAO, FACBO, FOVDR, Consultant Optometrist, Singapore. The symposium served as a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, promoting both scientific innovation and healthcare equity in pediatric vision care.

A key focus of the symposium was the need for equitable access to pediatric eye health services. Thought-provoking panel discussions encouraged dynamic exchange on practical solutions to address healthcare disparities and resource limitations across different healthcare systems. The symposium was formally concluded by Prof Dr Amir Ali Chaudhary, Head, Department of Optometry & Ophthalmology, TUF, who appreciated the contributions of all speakers and attendees. Prof Dr Amanullah Malik, Rector, TUF, graced the event with his presence. In his concluding remarks, he lauded the Department of Optometry for organizing such a significant academic gathering.
