The Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Faisalabad organized a comprehensive Field Survey Camp for 8th semester students to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. The camp provided students with invaluable hands-on experience using both traditional and modern surveying instruments, including theodolites, total stations, auto levels, and plane tables.
Through practical sessions such as levelling, plane tabling, contouring, triangulation, trilateration, and compass traversing, students gained insights into essential surveying techniques and their applications in areas like road design, topographic mapping, and boundary surveys. The camp also fostered teamwork, technical proficiency, and problem-solving under field conditions. Under faculty supervision, students participated in daily briefings, conducted on-site experiments, and prepared comprehensive reports. This immersive learning experience not only enhanced their technical competence but also prepared them for future professional challenges in civil engineering.
