Law Students Visited Competition Commission of Pakistan; MoU Signed to Strengthen Academic and Professional Collaboration

The Faculty of Law organized an educational visit to the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP), providing LLB students a unique opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to regulatory practices and competition law enforcement in Pakistan.

Led by Prof Dr Sami Ur Rahman, Dean Faculty of Law, the initiative aimed to bridge legal theory with professional practice. Dr Sami Ur Rahman also proposed the signing of a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CCP to facilitate internships and further academic collaboration.

During the visit, students were welcomed by CCP Member Mr Saeed Ahmed Nawaz and Director General Mr Ahmad Qadir, who conducted an informative session highlighting the CCP’s structure, enforcement mechanisms, and legal tools to ensure fair market competition. Topics such as anti-monopoly regulations, cartel control, deceptive business practices, and the role of lawyers in regulatory bodies were discussed in depth.
