Faculty of Law Hosted 2-Day Training on Alternative Dispute Resolution

Faculty of Law’s Centre of Excellence in Conflict Resolution at The University of Faisalabad, in collaboration with the VIS Alumni Network (Pakistan & Central Asia), successfully organized a Two-Day Training on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

Day One sessions introduced participants to ADR fundamentals, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, international commercial disputes, and the role of government registries and case laws.

Prof Dr Sami Ur Rahman, Dean Faculty of Law, highlighted ADR as a Quranic principle of reconciliation (Quran 49:9) and a means to reduce court backlogs while promoting harmony. The training program featured esteemed speakers, including Mr Afaq Ur Rehman, Mr Muhammad Faisal Hayat, Ms Warda Kazmi, Ms Rabia Iftikhar Khan (Advocates), and Ms Sadia Tanveer, an accredited mediator and lecturer at the Faculty of Law.

Day Two featured a Quiz Competition, drafting of arbitration clauses, and Mock Arbitration exercises. In concluding the session Prof Dr Amanullah Malik, Rector, TUF, and Prof Dr Sami Ur Rehman, Dean, Faculty of Law, TUF, emphasized promoting ADR as “Appropriate Dispute Resolution” and reaffirmed TUF’s commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s ADR ecosystem.
