Enhancing Linguistic Expertise: A Workshop on Computational Linguistics

The Department of English Language and Literature conducted a workshop on "Advancing Computational Linguistics Skills," featuring Muhammad Shoaib Tahir, a corpus and computational linguist, and visiting lecturer at the University of Education and GC University Faisalabad.  

The session covered topics like VS Code, Python, and Corpus Linguistics tools, including AntConc, LancsBox, Orange Tool, and MAT Tagger. Postgraduate students of MPhil English Linguistics, MPhil English Literature, and BS English 7th semester actively participated in hands-on practice with these advanced software tools, enhancing their computational expertise in linguistics.
