Quality Education
The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences organized a comprehensive educational visit for students of the BS Respiratory Therapy program to Shifa International Hospital on February 17, 2026.
The visit offered students valuable clinical exposure and practical insight into respiratory care practices within a modern healthcare environment. During their time at the hospital, students observed advanced respiratory therapy equipment, patient management protocols, and interdisciplinary coordination across various departments. This firsthand experience enabled them to better understand the operational dynamics of a tertiary care facility.
Engagement with experienced healthcare professionals further strengthened students’ awareness of real-world clinical responsibilities, ethical standards, and patient-centered care approaches. The interactive sessions provided clarity on professional expectations and the evolving role of respiratory therapists in critical and routine care settings.
Such academic visits play a vital role in bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical application. They contribute to the development of clinical competence, professional confidence, and a deeper commitment to quality healthcare delivery.
This educational visit aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaboration between academia and the healthcare sector.
