Educational Study Tour to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre

The Department of Pharmacy, The University of Faisalabad, organized an educational study tour to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Lahore, on 10th November 2025. The visit aimed to broaden students’ understanding of oncology practice, hospital pharmacy operations, and comprehensive cancer care services.

During the visit, students explored key departments, including the Hospital Pharmacy, Chemotherapy Preparation Unit, Radiotherapy Department, Oncology Wards, Outpatient Department (OPD), and Laboratory and Diagnostic Units. They observed drug dispensing, cytotoxic drug preparation under aseptic conditions, radiation procedures, patient care and counseling, and cancer diagnostic testing.

The students were also introduced to the Research and Clinical Trials Section, where they gained insight into ongoing advancements in oncology drug therapy.

This study tour provided valuable clinical exposure and strengthened students’ professional learning, reflecting the department’s commitment to experiential education and academic excellence.
