The Torchbearer of the Doctrine
Haji Muhammad Saleem (Late; 1940–1995), the eldest son of Haji Muhammad Amin (1920-1975), carried forward the family’s longstanding commitment to serving society and gave it a clear direction for the future. Deeply concerned with the welfare of the community, he envisioned a more organized and institutionalized approach to addressing the needs of the underprivileged through medical assistance, education, and social welfare.
His vision extended beyond individual acts of charity. He believed that the resources generated through enterprise should contribute to the betterment of society and that welfare initiatives should be developed into sustainable institutions capable of creating lasting impact. With this purpose, he provided the family with a guiding philosophy that brought together economic activity, service to humanity, and the advancement of education under the enduring vision of Industry, Service and Education. .
This vision became the foundation for the systematic development of the family’s industrial, educational, medical, and welfare initiatives. Under this guiding philosophy, social welfare evolved from individual efforts into organized programs and institutions, creating a lasting framework for serving communities and supporting the underprivileged.

Haji Muhammad Saleem’s vision served as the direct catalyst for consolidating the family’s business and philanthropic activities into formal organizations.
Foundation of the Philosophy
Founded in 1948 by four brothers engaged in the edible-oil trade, the family established a principle of returning a significant share of business profits to the community through non-profit initiatives focused on social uplift and the welfare of the underprivileged.
Evolution of the Foundation
As the Group expanded from trading into industry, its industrial and welfare activities were organized into separate divisions. Industrial ventures were placed under the Madinah Group of Industries, while welfare and social uplift initiatives were organized under the Madinah Foundation (Trust), established in 1995.
Today, Madinah Foundation serves as the financing and executing arm for the social, medical, and educational initiatives envisioned by Haji Muhammad Saleem.
