Welcome to TUF!

At TUF's Housing Office (HO), our primary goal is to cultivate a secure, supportive, and all-encompassing residential environment that enhances the overall educational experience of our students. Our meticulously devised policies and regulations are geared towards ensuring the safety and well-being of both our residents and the residential facilities.

We have provided the following links, which contain essential information concerning the housing contract, rules, regulations, and other pertinent details. These comprehensive guidelines have been carefully assembled to assist students in preparing for the upcoming academic year. They address various aspects, including residence specifics, check-in procedures, housing policies, as well as guidance on planning, packing for University life, and safety and security protocols.

Code of Conduct

  • Students engaging in willful abuse or destruction of University property will result in being reported to the Hall Warden and disciplinary action will be taken.
  • Tampering with or modifying electrical, plumbing, cable television, telephone systems etc is prohibited.
  • Misuse of fire extinguishers or other emergency equipment is prohibited and subject to fines and damage charges.
  • Drilling, nailing or painting of walls is prohibited.
  • Permanent installation of carpets or flooring is also prohibited.
  • The possession or use of fireworks, ammunition, hazardous or explosive material, firearms, pellet and BB guns, illegal knives, bladed or other dangerous weapons on-campus is prohibited.
  • Objects or substance of any kind may not be dropped or projected in a manner that may harass or endanger any person or risk damage to any property. Students must occupy the room to which they are assigned.
  • Any changes in room assignment must have prior approval of the Hall Warden.
  • The responsibility for the assignment of rooms is at the discretion of Hall Warden.
  • Upon confirmation that the student is not occupying his or her room, the space of that student will be reassigned.
  • Accommodating overnight guests and visitors is not allowed. This will lead to reporting to the Hall Warden and disciplinary action.

Admission Policy

  • Accommodation will be offered to eligible applicants subject to availability.
  • Students, whose enrollment has been canceled on account of misbehavior/misconduct, violation of hostel rules, involvement in undesirable activities and misrepresentation, shall not be eligible for further hostel admission/allotment.
  • After admission to the hostel, students shall come under the direct supervision of the Hostel Warden for the purposes of residence and its discipline.

Important Information
  • After due date a fixed fine of Rs 100/day- will be implied.
  • After admission, if a student does not join the hostel for some reason, she can claim a refund. Full fee will be refunded if claimed in the first week, half fee will be refunded if claimed in second week and no fee will be refunded if a claim is made after two weeks of hostel allotment.
  • No resident will be allowed to cancel hostel registration. However, under special circumstances, he can be allowed to leave hostel on completion of an academic year and effective from next academic year. No permission for hostel leaving will be granted within the duration of an academic year.
  • A day scholar (only Post graduate students) if requested to stay in hostel in special cases, should get recommendation from her respective department or parents. And he/she will pay 1000/day.

Residence Policy

  • Only full-time students maintaining a full course load are entitled to On Campus Residence.
  • Students who have completed the minimum graduation requirement of their respective programme but are enrolled in further courses will only be considered for accommodation subject to availability of space.
  • Students are not permitted to vacate the hostel to join other private hostel before the completion of their respective program.
  • Students are to vacate rooms immediately after the last scheduled exam. Room keys must be returned to the Housing Office before leaving the campus.
  • TUF Housing Office reserves the right to On Campus Residence and to modify the On Campus Residence policy as and when it deems necessary.

Penalties and Related Additional Charges

Violation Penalty
Unauthorized early arrival and staying in the hostel without approval or check-in. PKR 2,000 per day
Unregistered personal electrical appliances. Equivalent to three months' charges plus regular monthly fee.
Misuse of fire extinguishers. PKR 2,000 per person (entire floor)
Room swapping without permission. PKR 5,000 per student
Bringing outsiders into hostel premises. PKR 10,000 per person in room
Possession of smoking materials. PKR 5,000. Second violation will be forwarded to the Disciplinary Committee (DC).
Monthly AC Charges (Subject to Revision) Rs. 26,000 per AC

Smart Thumb Scanning

  • Entrance doors to residential buildings are kept locked at all times and can only be accessed using the Smart Thumb Scanning System.
  • Thumb scanning for all residents is activated upon check-in.
  • The Thumb Scanning access at entrance doors will remain active until the last day of the academic year or until a student checks out of the hostel.

Repair & Maintenance

Repair Request

  • Students must directly email maintenance complains to [email protected]
  • Name, roll-number, building and room number must be clearly mentioned.
  • At least 24 hours must be allowed for the repair work to complete.
  • If the repair work is still pending, it should be followed up with the Hall Warden.
  • The Hall Warden will maintain a record of when the room was visited, the job performed and the name and contact information of the vendor.
  • Housing Staff reserves the right to enter the residential rooms for maintenance and repair purposes without prior permission or notice unless otherwise notified by the student.

Maintenance Checks

All Residential buildings undergo a complete repair and maintenance check during the summer break. Facilities and Engineering ensures that the required maintenance is carried out so that the buildings are ready when the students arrive for the new academic year.

Key Policy

General Policy

  • All keys are the property of TUF and given to residents for personal use only.
  • Residents are prohibited from giving and/or loaning their keys to anyone for any reason.
  • Any duplication of University keys is strictly prohibited.
  • Students are provided keys for their room.
  • Key must be returned to the Hall Warden on vacating the hostel.
  • Duplicate keys are arranged by the Housing Officers on payment of a fine.

Lost Keys

  • Lost keys must be reported to the Hall Warden, who will order a new set from Facilities and Engineering.
  • New keys may be picked up during office hours on the week days.
  • The student will be charged a replacement fee for the lost keys. The fee is charged at the time of pickup.

Return of Keys at Check-out

All Keys must be returned to Hall Warden at checkout.

Medical & Emergency Service

Your well-being matters. TUF provides on-site medical and First aid services to address your health needs. In case of serious medical emergencies, we have a dedicated medical ambulance service on standby, ready to provide immediate assistance and transportation to nearby hospitals.

Cancellation of Allocated Room

The allocated room will be cancelled if a student does not check in by the date specified by the Housing Office.

However, if the Housing Office is notified that the student's arrival will be delayed due to illness or other extenuating personal circumstances, special permission to check in at a later date may be granted.

Failure to pay the fee should result in the cancellation of the student hostel registration.

Listed below is information which should be helpful in determining what to bring for your room. Rooms are equipped with a bed, mattress, desk, chair, wardrobe/closet, ceiling light and a computer port outlet.

Please Note: Students are NOT allowed to nail or use screws for hanging items.

Pet Policy

No pets are allowed inside the premises of the hostels.

Hostel Services

Each residential facility features common rooms with large screen TVs and comfortable seating. All common rooms are air conditioned and open 24 hours.

Laundry services are provided to all students.

The residents are responsible for collecting and dropping laundry from the laundry rooms located in the designated residential areas.

Laundry is not to be hung out to dry in the balconies.

Pantries are located at hostels and are equipped with a refrigerator, water cooler, microwave oven and an iron.

Please remember that these are for the use of all building residents.

Common courtesy requires that each user cleans up after using the facility.

All the food items stored in the fridge should be labeled properly with names and roll numbers.

Refrigerators are regularly cleaned by the cleaning staff and spoiled food is thrown away.

Housing Staff is not responsible for the loss of food items.

Boys Hostel

The gates of all hostels close at 11:00 PM.

Female Hostel

Girls are allowed to leave the hostel as per their scheduled classes.

Students are advised to follow the hostel timing policy and cooperate with the Housing Office for their own safety and security.
