Wave FM 96.6 Celebrates 12 Years of Broadcasting at TUF
The University of Faisalabad celebrated the 12th anniversary of its radio station, Wave FM 96.6, marking twelve years of broadcasting, education, entertainment, and community engagement. The celebration highlighted the station’s achievements and recognized the dedication of its team in promoting meaningful communication and public engagement. Chief Guest Mr Tariq Javaid congratulated The University of Faisalabad and the Wave FM 96.6 team on completing twelve successful years. He appreciated the station’s contributions to broadcasting and extended his best wishes for its continued growth and success.
Ms Salma Umber, Head of the Department of Mass Communication at Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), highlighted the significance of radio as an effective medium for communication, education, and public engagement. She commended Wave FM 96.6 for its contributions to broadcasting and congratulated the team on achieving this milestone.
Prof Dr Aman Ullah Malik, Rector, The University of Faisalabad, addressed the gathering and reflected on the station’s twelve-year journey, achievements, and progress. He acknowledged the dedication of Program Manager Farrukh Sheikh and the entire Wave FM 96.6 team for their consistent efforts and valuable contributions. He also emphasized the continuing relevance of radio in the digital age as a platform for information, education, communication, and entertainment. The celebration featured cultural performances by TUF's student societies. Majlis-e-Adab, the university's literary society, presented a theatrical performance titled “Khawabon Kay Bhaid,” highlighting the creativity and artistic talent of its members.
The TUF Musical Society further added to the occasion with an engaging musical performance. The event concluded with the distribution of appreciation certificates among participants in recognition of their contributions and performances, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony commemorating twelve years of Wave FM 96.6. The anniversary marked another milestone in Wave FM 96.6’s journey of promoting communication, creativity, and community engagement through broadcasting.
