TUF Showcased Innovation as SEE Pakistan 2026 Regional Round Featured 259 Startup Projects and 130 Competing Teams
Reaffirming its commitment to innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven education, the Department of Computer Sciences, Faculty of Information Technology, TUF, hosted the SEE Pakistan 2026 Regional Round—one of Pakistan's leading startup and innovation competitions. The event brought together aspiring entrepreneurs, startup founders, technology experts, academicians, industry leaders, and students, providing a dynamic platform to transform innovative ideas into commercially viable solutions. SEE Pakistan's national championship engages thousands of startups from universities across the country through regional competitions, strengthening Pakistan's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The event commenced with an inspiring inaugural ceremony attended by distinguished guests, including Mr Waheed Khalq Ramay, Chairman, Council of Power Looms and Industries, Pakistan; Professor Dr Zahir Ahmad Zahir, Director, ORIC, TUF; Muiz Ali, Team Lead, SEE Pakistan; and Prof Dr Majid Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Information Technology, TUF. Their keynote addresses emphasized the critical role of innovation, academia-industry collaboration, and entrepreneurship in accelerating Pakistan's digital transformation and knowledge-based economy. The participation of CEOs from leading regional technology companies further enriched the event by creating valuable networking and mentorship opportunities for aspiring innovators.
A major highlight of the Regional Round was the highly competitive Project Evaluation Phase, where 259 innovative projects were registered, with 130 shortlisted teams presenting their startup ideas before an esteemed panel of judges from academia, industry, and the entrepreneurial sector. The remarkable participation reflected the growing entrepreneurial mindset among young innovators and their determination to develop technology-driven solutions addressing real-world challenges.
Throughout the evaluation process, participants received constructive feedback, expert mentorship, and practical insights to refine their business models and enhance the commercial potential of their innovations. The successful organization of the SEE Pakistan 2026 Regional Round once again demonstrated TUF’s dedication to nurturing future innovators, empowering entrepreneurial talent, and creating meaningful opportunities for students to contribute to Pakistan's rapidly evolving startup ecosystem.
