Advances in Musculoskeletal Imaging: Ultrasound and MRI in Clinical Practice

The Department of Radiography and Imaging Sciences, TUF, organized a seminar and hands-on workshop on “Advances in Musculoskeletal Imaging: Ultrasound and MRI in Clinical Practice”. The seminar was facilitated by Assistant Professor Dr Touseef Qamar, Consultant Radiologist at Sehat Medical Complex, The University of Lahore, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest, and Dr Ahmad Mehmood Rana, Interventional Catheterization Laboratory Technologist at DHQ Hospital, Sheikhupura, as Guest Speaker.

The distinguished experts shared their clinical expertise in musculoskeletal imaging, highlighting advancements in ultrasound and MRI, their diagnostic applications, and their significance in clinical decision-making. Through interactive discussions, clinical case studies, and hands-on demonstrations, participants gained valuable insights into modern imaging techniques and their practical applications in diagnosing musculoskeletal disorders.

Participants gained practical knowledge of assessing muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, and common musculoskeletal disorders using ultrasound and MRI. The workshop emphasized the importance of correlating imaging findings with clinical presentations to support accurate diagnosis and patient care. The workshop provided students with an opportunity to strengthen their clinical skills and apply theoretical knowledge to practical imaging procedures.

The workshop contributed to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by promoting advanced diagnostic imaging practices, strengthening students’ clinical knowledge and practical skills, and encouraging the application of innovative ultrasound and MRI technologies for improved healthcare outcomes.
