TUF Commemorates Defence Day 2026 with Tribute, Patriotism and Student Engagement

The University of Faisalabad (TUF) commemorated Defence Day 2026 across its Saleem Wing, Amin Wing, and Jinnah Wing through a range of engaging activities aimed at honouring the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs and defenders while fostering patriotism, national unity, discipline, and civic responsibility among students.

At the Saleem Wing, the Center for Collective Activities, TUF, in collaboration with student societies, organized a diverse series of activities. These included a Speech Competition organized by the TUF Literary Society, a Quiz Competition focusing on Pakistan’s history and the significance of Defence Day, a Documentary Screening by the TUF Digital Creator Society, a Patriotic Poetry Session by the Majlis-e-Adab Society, and a Short Drama Play by the TUF Dramatic Society. Students actively participated across the activities, demonstrating their knowledge, creativity, confidence, and patriotic spirit. Uswa Akhlas, BBA 5th Semester, secured the winning position in the speech competition, while Amna Shahbaz and Eman Iftikhar, BS MLS 5th Semester, emerged as the winning team in the quiz competition.

At the Amin Wing, the TUF Literary Society and Musical Society jointly organized a commemorative program featuring a drama performance and an Urdu Debate Competition. The activities provided students with an opportunity to showcase their communication skills and artistic abilities while reflecting on the courage, sacrifice, and devotion associated with the defence of the country.

The Jinnah Wing also observed Defence Day 2026 at the Jinnah Auditorium, bringing together distinguished guests, faculty, staff, and students. The event featured speech competitions, patriotic poetry, short drama performances, and tributes to the martyrs and heroes of Pakistan. Mr. Umer Kibriya, Campus Manager; Mr. Qasim Raza, Manager Hospitality; Dr. Anila Mushtaq, Assistant Professor, NBS; and Dr. Ali Raza, Assistant Professor, English & Linguistics, attended the occasion. Their presence, along with the active participation of students and faculty, added significance to the commemorative gathering.

Across all three wings, the Defence Day activities created meaningful opportunities for students to engage with themes of national service, sacrifice, unity, and responsible citizenship. The programs also supported values-based learning by encouraging communication, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and civic awareness, reflecting TUF’s commitment to developing socially responsible and engaged graduates.

Overall, the university-wide commemoration served as a meaningful tribute to Pakistan’s defenders while providing students with diverse platforms to express their patriotism and strengthen their sense of national responsibility.
